Description:
The subject vessel is a spud barge of all welded steel construction with a raked bow and a raked stern built in 1949. The barge has been fitted with four 26 inch square spud wells aft and one trailing spud well forward.

General Construction:

The hull is divided into five transverse and one longitudinal bulkhead forming a total of twelve watertight void compartments. Transverse truss frames are built with 12" channel deck and bottom chords with 6" x 3" x 3/8" and 8" x 8" x 3/4" verticals and diagonals. Longitudinal side frames are 6" x 4" x 3/8" on 24 inch centers. The deck, sides, and bottom is constructed of 3/8" plate. The spuds are 25" X 25" X 40 feet long.
